The PSNI is handing out free flip flops to women walking home in high heels

Guarding and protecting the feet.

EVERY WOMAN WITH a fondness for high heels knows they’re a bit of a nuisance. If you can still feel all of your toes at the end of the night, you’re one of the lucky ones.

The PSNI in Down are aware of this – and they’re offering flip flops to women walking home from nights out in high heels, to ensure they get home safely.

One woman wrote about her experience on the PSNI Facebook page, saying she and her friends were walking home from a festival when an “absolutely lovely police officer” pulled up along side them and handed them all pink flip flops. Pink!

We couldn’t believe it. What a really lovely thing to do. Saved us all sore feet and blisters this morning.

The PSNI Down responded:

Lol this is something we do in partnership with Down PCSP. I don’t know how you girlies manage to walk home in the freezing wind and rain! Ur like secret ninjas or something lol

They revealed that they also offer tired party-goers tea, coffee and lollipops to make the journey home a little easier.

The move has been roundly applauded on the PSNI Facebook page, but some male commenters have been left scratching their heads.

You just don’t UNDERSTAND, lads. We’re secret ninjas.
